DYING INTROSPECTIONS
Thanatophobia or also known clinically as death anxiety is quite literally defined as the fear of death. One would assume that death is feared by the elderly and the ill, though it was proven otherwise through research. Recent studies show that many young adults nowadays face the fear of death unconsciously and consciously. Unfortunately, this phobia is rarely addressed.
‘Dying Introspections’ showcases some of the various reasons as to why the idea of death itself, can be scary and at the same time, creates a space for each individual to introspect on their own fear and perspectives of death. The installation consists of five experimental photographs printed on cloth that are placed at eye level, inviting viewers to experience the different expressions of the fears of death; uncertainty, loss, unforgettable, pain, and calm.
RECIPE FOR REGENERATION: COMPOST
The ‘International Compost Awareness’ competition that helps spread light to the importance and benefits of compost. Indirectly relating to my intent which is to educate and create empathy, this competition helps bring awareness to the cause and helps create empathy in society towards the environment.
Compost plays a crucial role in this system. This poster invokes empathy from audiences and educates them as to how by just recycling our food scraps and yard trimmings, we can create a simple compost which can be used in our agricultural system.
